Vice President of Annual and Reunion Giving
The VMI Foundation invites applications for the position of Vice President (VP) for Annual and Reunion Giving. The VP reports to the Chief Executive Officer of the VMI Foundation. The VP has the responsibility to plan, coordinate and execute comprehensive annual giving, reunion campaign, and class agent programs. The annual fundraising program seeks gifts from alumni, parents, cadets, and friends of VMI. The VP develops the plans for communication and solicitation involving email, direct mail, phonathon, and alumni/volunteer engagement. The
VP directs the planning, coordination, and conduct of the 10th, 25th, and 50th Reunion fund raising campaigns. The VP will develop and implement a plan that includes a detailed budget and measureable outcomes for the program while focusing on cost-effective approaches resulting in a successful, integrated operation with a staff of five. The VP prepares and presents reports, plans, and proposals to individual alumni, organizations, and high level administration leaders, i.e. Boards or institution leaders. As a member of the Foundation’s senior management team, the VP fosters teamwork, and performs other duties as required. Evening and weekend work required.
Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include experience in development operations in a higher education environment; a bachelor’s degree; experience working with technology, web, and social media; experience or educational background in Marketing; proficiency in Microsoft
Office Suite; and supervisory or volunteer management experience. Candidates with experience in an annual fund office, experience with call center operations (with a knowledge of Ruffalo Cody/CampusCall), and Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge database are preferred. Demands of the position require excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; the ability to work well with diverse populations including alumni, volunteers, alumni class leaders, students, faculty, and administration. Possess the ability to provide leadership, think strategically, and recruit, motivate, and appreciate others.
