Using Patterns to Drive Guided Physics Inquiry
Heather plans to involve participants in a cornerstone experience from her classroom. Students will engage in guided scientific inquiry to build an understanding of the first fundamental physical pattern (linear) that they will work with throughout the academic year by analyzing springs. Her objective is to start a conversation with teachers about integrating the use of known patterns into the process of physics “sense-making” and harnessing productive student dialogue in the classroom.
