Preston Library is open to the public during normal operating hours. Information on directions and parking is available here.
Visiting the VMI Archives
The VMI Archives contain a wealth of primary source collections of interest to both scholars and the general public. The department is located on the 400 level of Preston Library and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Visitors are welcome.
Preston Library extends borrowing privileges to Rockbridge County residents, as well as faculty and students at Washington & Lee University, Southern Virginia University, and other Virginia colleges. Visit the circulation desk to fill out a brief registration form.
Computers and Internet Access
Preston Library provides public access to the internet via 4 networked computers in addition to the wireless network. All study carrels are equipped with power outlets and ethernet connections.
WiFi is available throughout the library, with the preferred network for visitors (patrons who don't have a VMI network username and password) Preston Public. Read more about the library's wireless networks here.
Black and white photocopies can be made at the circulation desk and cost 10¢ per page plus tax as required by the state.
