Employers

We welcome the opportunity to partner with your organization.

VMI provides undergraduate baccalaureate degrees in 14 majors. VMI's rigorous education includes a broad, four-year core curriculum with undergraduate programs in engineering, science, liberal arts, and social sciences within a physically challenging and constantly demanding environment.

Please find more detailed information below on our programs to connect with cadets and our standards of ethics in the recruitment process. Contact Career Services (email careerservices@vmi.edu) with questions.

Internships

Summer internships have always been an option for Cadets seeking professional experience. Our hope is that alumni and a wide variety of employers will offer gratifying and educational opportunities for VMI Cadets. We are now posting internship opportunities on KeydetConnect. This is a free service if you are interested in posting internship opportunities to cadets.

Recruiting and Interviewing on Campus (Post)

Employers are invited to recruit for full-time positions and internships on Post throughout the academic year:

  • Fall semester - October through mid-November

If this is your first recruiting visit to VMI, you might want to visit the Career Services office, meet with the Career Services staff, and talk with faculty in related disciplines.

The recruiting program at VMI is designed to allow maximum flexibility for employers. You may choose from the following options or set up a schedule that is tailor-made to your specific employment and scheduling requirements:

  • general information sessions in advance
  • classroom presentations
  • meetings with faculty
  • pre-select resume service
  • interview slots of specific duration
  • pre-screening testing
  • application distribution and collection
  • pre-employment testing

Interested in scheduling on-Post interviews, presentations, or other meetings?  You can schedule these events using our e-recruiting system KeydetConnect.  View the Employers User Guide for KeydetConnect.
