Reunion Campaigns

Every year, the three classes celebrating their 10th, 25th, and 50th reunions conduct reunion campaigns. Through these efforts – which are organized and led by Brother Rats – hundreds of alumni and their families and friends provide gifts and commitments to VMI.

Classes often use these campaigns to create special funds such as unrestricted endowments or memorial scholarships.

Barracks Program

Throughout their time in barracks, each class learns about the importance of private money to VMI through the VMI Foundation’s Barracks Program. The culmination of that program is the annual First Class Campaign, through which leaders of the class engage their Brothers Rats, asking them to make a gift in support of the Institute before graduation. Those gifts – as well as any commitments – are combined into a gift present by the class to the Institute at the traditional Graduation Parade.

Society of VMI Family and Friends

VMI is admired and valued by thousands of people who have never been cadets. Some might be related to alumni or have worked with a VMI graduate. Many appreciate VMI’s demanding mode of education. Others consider it a vital source for developing the nation’s leaders who will serve honorably in times of peace and peril.
Every year, many of these people make a gift in support of VMI and become members of the Society of VMI Family & Friends.

Matching Gifts

Many companies will double or even triple the value of charitable gifts made by employees and their spouses, board members, and retirees through matching gifts.

Contact your employer to see if a matching gift program is available.
