Newest Alumni Present First Class Campaign Check
On May 14, during the traditional Graduation Parade, the Class of 2014 presented the Institute with the proceeds of its First Class Campaign--$16,920,14. The leaders of the class made the presentation (l to r) Kyle Reavis, Historian; Jonathan Mattingly, Vice President; Weston Hitchcock, President; Taylor Floyd, Class Agent; and Sam Guidry, Class Agent. Accepting the gift on behalf of the Institute and the VMI Alumni Agencies, respectively, were General Peay and (far left) John J. Wranek III ’85, the VMI Foundation’s Vice President for Annual and Reunion Giving.
While most graduating classes have directed their giving to the three components of VMI Annual Giving, the Class of 2014 took a different approach, devoting the entire gift to the establishment of the Class of 2014 Scholarship.
