LTC Brian Imiola, Ph.D, is the senior military philosopher and Academy Professor of Philosophy in the United States Military Academy’s Department of English and Philosophy. He is also currently serving as the Course Director for USMA’s core course in philosophy which specializes in Ethics and Just War Theory. LTC Imiola has served as both an Infantry and Logistics officer prior to his assignment as a permanent member of West Point’s senior faculty. He has deployed to Somalia, Haiti, and Iraq. His recent scholarship has focused on exploring the Professional Military Ethic and he has an article in the soon to be released special edition of Military Review that is dedicated to the PME. He is a frequent contributor to the work and efforts of the Center for the Army Profession and Ethic.
