Our Mission
The Construction and Engineering Office plans and executes the Institute’s $270 million construction program in order to provide world class, state of the art facilities that enable the education and training of the Nation’s 21st Century military and civilian leaders.
The office’s ten personnel consist of construction Project Management, Project Inspection and Procurement specialists. These professionals shepherd projects through the design and construction cycle from initial concept to project close out and turnover. Working with some of the most renowned construction and architect/engineer firms on the East Coast, our mandate is to complete projects on time, within budget and to the highest standards of quality with the most up to date technologies.
Capital Projects Currently in Design Phase
Center for Leadership Ethics Phase II - $89 million 62,000 square foot expansion to the existing facility and 443 space parking garage
New Market Renovations and Improvements – $28 million project for complete renovation of museum, repair of historic buildings and improvements to roads and trails throughout the site
Admissions and Financial Aid Office Renovation - $5 million project to renovate buildings along Letcher Avenue that house Financial Aid and Admissions offices.
Hinty Hall and Facilities Management Expansion - $28 million project to expand and improve Physical Plant, Grounds and Maintenance facilities on Post and in local training areas.
Capital Projects Entering Construction in 2025
Moody Hall – complete demolition and rebuild of a new 50,000 square foot $68 million facility
Cadet Safety and Security - $9 million project to improve security, safety and communications systems in barracks
Nichols Engineering Building - $69 million project with renovation of existing building and 28,000 square foot expansion.
Post Wide Safety and Security - $11 million project to install protective measures and barriers at vulnerable points around Post
Barracks Windows – $32 million replacement of 789 windows in old and new barracks
Turman House Renovation - $3.5 million project to update and repair the historic home overlooking Jordan’s Point and its’ associated apartments for use as staff housing.
Non-Capital Projects (Projects less than $3 million)
Beginning in Spring 2025 we’ll be executing nearly a dozen non-capital projects including improvements to Crozet Hall, Shell Hall, Cocke Hall, Memorial Hall, and Clarkson-McKenna Hall. Other projects lined up for this year include the New Barracks Courtyard replacement, installation of video scoreboards in Cameron Hall, relocation of the Barbershop, renovations and improvements to five sets living quarters and new targetry for the Kilbourne Hall rifle range.
