Intake Specialist - Office of Inspector General

The Intake Specialist plays a critical role within the Office of Inspector General / Title IX Coordinator by serving as the initial point of contact for individuals seeking assistance, reporting concerns, or filing complaints related to compliance maters, including but not limited to Title IX issues. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and emphatic individual who possesses excellent communication skills, an understanding of higher education policies and procedures, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive campus environment.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking information, assistance, or guidance regarding matters related to discrimination or bias, including Title IX concerns.

•    Conduct intake interviews with individuals who wish to report incidents or file complaints, ensuring confidentiality and sensitivity throughout the process.

•    Provide information and resources to individuals regarding their rights and options under relevant policies and regulations.

•    Maintain accurate and detailed records of intake interviews, complaints, and related correspondence in accordance with established protocols.

•    Collaborate with the Inspector General / Title IX Coordinator and other relevant stakeholders to assess the nature and scope of reported incidents and determine appropriate next steps.

•    Assist in the coordination of investigation and resolution of process by gathering relevant information, identifying witnesses, and facilitating communication between the parties.

•    Monitor and track the progress of ongoing cases, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.

•    Assist in outreach and education initiatives to raise awareness of compliance policies, procedure, and resources available to the campus community.

•    Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in the field of higher education compliance, particularly as they relate to Title IX.

•    Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and objectives of the office of Inspector General/Title IX Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively listen, communicate, and empathize with individuals from diverse backgrounds. 

•    A collaborative spirit of warmth, acceptance, respect, and trust towards colleagues and cadets.

•    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks priorities simultaneously.

•    Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

•    Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

•    Willingness to participate in training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of compliance and Title IX.

Additional Considerations:

•    Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., higher education administration, social work, counseling, law).
•    Previous experience working in a higher education or human resources setting.

•    Working knowledge of Title IX, Clery Act, VAWA, FERPA, and other relevant state and federal statutes.

•    Experience in creating, implementing, and conducting training and presentations.

•    Experience in case management software.
