Senior Director of Alumni Programs - VMI Alumni Agencies

The VMI Alumni Association is looking for an enthusiastic contributor to assist the Chief Operating Officer in the purpose and mission of VMI’s robust alumni experience as Senior Director of Alumni Programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Associate leadership: The ideal individual will provide dynamic and creative leadership, supporting the COO in all key initiatives.
- Support for New Cadet Recruiting: Maintain and build a robust program through which the Alumni Association and its members support VMI Admissions in recruiting and retaining high-quality candidates.
- Connect with Cadets: Enhance the relationship with the current Corps of Cadets to build their understanding of the VMI Alumni Agencies mission and their future benefits as alumni.
- Synchronize outreach and engagement with class agents: Increase regular participation of alumni classes and their agents by sharing best practices between classes and informing classes of important events and happenings.
- Present purpose, vision, and initiatives: Assist in presenting the vision of the Alumni Association to various groups, chapters, boards, and reunion classes.
- Events, engagement, and affinity gatherings: Plan and execute affinity reunions, board meetings, and the annual Volunteer Leaders Conference with the support of the team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience in alumni relations, event planning, or related fields is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities on multiple platforms.
- Exemplary oral communication skills, including the ability to represent the Institute to large groups.
- Experience building professional relationships and programs.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite, presentation software, and social media platforms.
