Alumni Engagement Office - VMI Alumni Agencies

Are you an enthusiastic self-starter, ready to assist in the enhancement and development of a robust national alumni chapter network? The VMI Alumni Association is launching this new role designed to provide program support to the director of alumni programs and the COO in optimizing all aspects of the VMI chapter experience to include engagement, participation, and involvement.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Coordination:

    • The ideal person will enjoy planning and executing chapter events and working with chapter leadership to support initiatives.
    • Assist in facilitating the Alumni Association Board of Directors Engagement and Chapter Operations Committees.
    • Support Alumni Association events from planning to execution as part of the team.

Connection:

    • Gather information on chapter involvement and activities to share resources and best practices for all chapters develop creative strategies to connect chapters to the Institute and other alumni.
    • Act as a resource for information to chapter members and leaders regarding VMI activities and priorities.
    • Administer the VMI provisional appointment program, connecting new generations of the VMI family to the Institute.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities on multiple platforms
  • Experience building professional relationships
  • Have a flexible work attitude, ready to support the team where needed.
  • Ability to organize effectively to ensure mission accomplishment and ensure deadlines are met
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite, keynote and presentation software, and social media platforms
