Endowments are permanent funds that donors commit to specific purposes and/or program. Endowments at VMI support scholarships for cadets, provide money for Institute professorships, generate money for academic departments and other activities, and produce unrestricted funds for VMI.

Individuals and classes can establish endowments. It takes a minimum of $25,000 to endow an unrestricted fund and a minimum of $50,000 to establish a restricted fund.

Please contact Warren J. “Buddy” Bryan ’71, the VMI Foundation’s Vice President for Major Gifts, for more information on endowments at 1.800.444.1839, ext. 236 or bbryan@vmiaa.org.
