Hentz to Speak on With Good Reason

LEXINGTON, Va., July 21, 2017 – Col. Jim Hentz, professor of international studies at Virginia Military Institute, will speak on the public radio program With Good Reason the week of July 22-28.

During the episode, which is titled “Face-to-Face Diplomacy,” Hentz will discuss why he believes the United States’ defense spending habits may be setting us up for failure, as countries such as China are investing more in research and development. Because of this, Hentz believes, the United States’ role as the world’s only superpower may soon be threatened.

Also appearing on the episode will be Marcus Holmes, of the College of William & Mary; Jack Lechelt, Northern Virginia Community College; Thomas Flores, George Mason University; and April Faye Manalong, Norfolk State University.
