NYT Bestselling Author Speaks at VMI
LEXINGTON, Va., Jan. 30, 2025—Virginia Military Institute welcomes New York Times bestselling author, Ace Atkins, for a reading of his 30th novel, “Don’t Let the Devil Ride,” Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. in Gillis Theater. The event is free and open to the public.
Atkins started his writing career as a crime beat reporter in Florida. His collection of work includes The Quinn Colson series consisting of 11 books, and multiple true crime novels based on infamous crooks and killers. In 2010, the family of the late author, Robert B. Parker, chose Atkins to continue Parker’s iconic Spenser series. Atkins has since added 10 novels to the franchise.
“Don’t Let the Devil Ride” is a thrilling adventure about a woman’s search for her missing husband in Memphis, Tennessee. Copies of the novel may be purchased and autographed by the author at the reading.
Atkins lives in Oxford, Mississippi, with his family.
