Attention parents and cadets - Tuition for the Spring 2025 semester is due by Dec. 15, 2024.

ROTC Scholarships

Significant financial support is available through VMI’s ROTC program. Incoming scholarship cadets who maintain satisfactory academic and disciplinary standing may receive an annual stipend.

These scholarships cover tuition and may also include allowances for books and fees and living expenses. ROTC scholarships offer opportunities to obtain leadership positions in the armed forces upon graduation. ROTC scholarships are not administered through VMI but rather through the awarding military branch.

Two or three years of ROTC scholarship assistance may be available after the first or second year of enrollment at VMI. A two-year program is also available to students who transfer to VMI after their sophomore year.

Army ROTC - Army ROTC scholarships pay tuition and auxiliary fees. It is awarded on merit, based on academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and personal interviews. Contracted Cadets receive a monthly stipend of $420 for books and uniforms. Non-scholarship Contracted Cadets receive a uniform allowance but are not eligible for the book stipend.
