This ceremony, in which the new officers take their commissioning oaths, marks the end of a four-year journey of education, training, and self-discovery and the beginning of a journey of military service.

Following the formal oath ceremony in Cameron Hall, each ROTC or AUP component will conduct individual "pin on" ceremonies in designated areas on VMI's post in accordance with their service traditions.

Branch-specific pinning ceremonies will be in the following locations:

• Army ROTC – Marshall Hall
• Naval ROTC, including Marine Corps – Cameron Hall
• Air Force ROTC, including Space Force – Memorial Hall
• Coast Guard AUP – Memorial Gardens (Trinity Arch)

All persons attending should be seated 15 minutes before the start.
